Get professional hair and makeup, and our professional photography along with our professional retouching equals some of the best portraits of yourself that you will ever see. Take a night out after getting your portraits done, because you will look and feel amazing! Waiting to lose those perpetual “Last 5, 10, or 15 pounds”? DON’T! We know how to pose you to flatter your individual body type.

We work in studio with high key and low key lighting. We also do natural and intimate candle lit sessions depending on the mood you want to portray.

BOUDOIR SESSION WHAT TO EXPECT AND HOW TO PREPARE

Congratulations on making the decision to do a boudoir shoot with us and of course, thank you for your trust and your business. We understand having pictures taken can make people nervous, especially one as intimate as a boudoir session. Fortunately you are working with professionals with lots of experience and who also try new ideas so feel free to bring inspirational photos if there is a look you’re going for. Otherwise, we will pose you and use the best angles and light to ensure you look great. If there is a certain area you don’t want photographed, let us know. Part of the editing process includes smoothing the skin, removing bruises or blemishes. We don't make people lose weight with photoshop but we can take off any thing the camera adds (and maybe help a bit more).

Also, please feel free to bring a friend to help you relax, help with your wardrobe, makeup etc.

Below are some tips to help you prepare for your session and answer any questions you may have. If you do have questions after reading this, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you at our studio and working with you.

HAIR/MAKEUP

We do not provide hair and/or makeup services so you will need to have this done prior to your session time. The most common look for boudoir hair is loose, beachy waves but up-do styles also look great! To start the session, your hair should be clean and dry. In general, a signature look for boudoir photo shoots is a subtle smoky eye, eyeliner, sun-kissed cheeks and a nude or pink lip. False lashes can also provide a glamorous vibe.

WARDROBE – LINGERIE

Plan to bring your own wardrobe items for your shoot. You are welcome to bring a variety of outfits and we will help you select the best ones for the scenes. The photo shoot is less about what you’re wearing and more about YOU. The most important thing is to bring clothing items that fit you properly so be sure to try them on. If you love your wardrobe items, then you will feel confident — and that confidence will show in your photos! If you don’t love it, don’t bring it.

You don’t have to bare everything. At Aries 70 Studio, we mix class with sass and it’s what you don’t see that keeps you looking. A bodysuit or corset that covers your middle is often just as sexy as a bra and panty set. Other items that cover a bit (but don’t cover everything!) are robes, stockings, high-waisted panties and garter belts.

Anything with a little texture will photograph well, including lace, mesh, beading or metal studs.

Black lingerie is always a classic and sexy look. Jewel tones such as purple, navy, red, turquoise and crimson also look amazing on almost everyone. In most cases, panties with a bit of lace and/or coverage (left) will photograph better than a G-string. However, there is one shot we love to do if you bring a great thong

We recommend the following:

• Lacy bra and panty sets

• Body suits, strappy body suits, body suits with sleeves

• Shapewear (great for lifting and shaping) Look for slips with built in cups for extra support.

• Shirts like off the shoulder sweater or an oversized man’s shirt. Jerseys can be very sexy too.

• Hosiery - We recommend all varieties of thigh-highs: black, white, fishnet, lace – you just can’t go wrong. But if not a fan, bare legs look great too.

• Nothing (extra sass but still classy. We are artist)

SHOES

You will need at least one pair of fabulous high-heeled shoes for your boudoir photo shoot. And the higher the heel, the better!

Before you come to the studio, peel off any labels or stickers and clean the soles of your shoes. The bottoms of your shoes are likely to show in many of your pictures. If your shoes are old and worn-out, it will likely show in the photos.

JEWELRY

Not needed and can be distracting and time consuming but, chunky necklaces, a long strand of pearls or a sentimental piece of jewelry are all great ways to add a bit of bling to your boudoir images. Bracelets and earrings will also look great with your lingerie.

RETOUCHING

• Complimentary retouching on your photos include: skin tone correction and smoothing, blemish and bruise removal, wrinkle reduction, waist nipping, body contouring and teeth whitening.

• Advanced editing: extensive photo retouching requests may incur a $25 per image fee. If you have a tattoo that you do not want to show in your images, consider bringing wardrobe items that cover it. Retouching to remove tattoos is not included with photo purchases, but can be accommodated at $25 per image. Retouching of tan lines, sunburns or tanning streaks is also $25 per image.

• Many women don’t want their photos retouched at all and that’s fine too. Don’t want a birthmark removed? Want to celebrate your stretch marks rather than remove them? Totally fine - just let us know!
